Check your EPK.
Paste the link you send promoters. We open it the way a promoter’s phone does and score it on the ten things they look for, with what to fix.
Free, no sign-up. We do not keep the pages you check.
What we check, and why.
The same list we use when we build press kits, weighted by what costs you bookings when it is missing.
Music plays on the page
20 ptsA promoter decides in the first thirty seconds of a mix. A player on the page gets heard; a link to another app mostly does not.
A booking contact in plain sight
15 ptsOne email address a promoter finds in five seconds on a phone. A contact form or a DM is where bookings go to die.
A bio worth reading
15 ptsLong enough to copy into a festival programme, specific enough to remember: where you are from, what you play, where you have played.
Press photos they can use
10 ptsAt least two photos, at full size, that a promoter can put on a poster without asking you for them.
Upcoming dates
10 ptsDates in the future prove you are active. Only past dates, or none, read as a quiet year.
A proper link preview
10 ptsMost EPKs are sent in WhatsApp, Instagram or email. Without a preview image and title, the link looks like spam.
A tech rider
5 ptsWhich decks and mixer you need. It saves an email, and it tells the promoter you have done this before.
Works on a phone
5 ptsPromoters open EPKs on their phone between other things. A desktop page shrunk to fit gets closed.
A secure address
5 ptsBrowsers mark pages without https as "not secure", which is the last thing you want a stranger to see first.
Opens quickly
5 ptsOn a phone in a club or on a train, a slow page is a closed page.
Questions.
What is a good EPK score?
Above 85 means a promoter can hear you, read about you and book you without leaving the page. Between 60 and 85 usually means one or two things are missing, most often a player or a booking email. Below 60, the page is making a promoter work, and most will not.
Can you check a PDF press kit?
We can tell you it is a PDF, and that is most of the answer: a PDF cannot play your music, cannot be updated after you send it, and is awkward to open on a phone. If you send one, send a link to a page alongside it.
Does it work with Linktree, Wix, Squarespace or Canva?
Yes. We open the page the way a promoter, a search engine or WhatsApp would. Some builders draw the page in the browser after it loads; if we can only read part of it, we say so, because link previews and search engines see the same thing we do.
Is the checker free?
Yes, with no sign-up. We do not keep the pages you check. If you want to fix what it finds, our EPK builder does it in about ten minutes, and you only pay when you put the page live.
Read before you send one.
- What an EPK actually is, and what it is notTwo of the three words in "electronic press kit" are wrong. What the thing actually is, who really opens it, what belongs in one, and the three formats people build instead.
- What to put in a DJ press kitThe bio lengths, image specs, tech rider and links promoters and press ask for, and how to host it so it is never out of date.
- A real DJ press kit, taken apartMost press kit examples are template screenshots. This is a working one, pulled apart section by section, plus the case for sending promoters a link instead of an attachment.
- The press kit mistakes that quietly lose bookingsTen things that make somebody’s job harder, so they stop reading and move to the next email. None of them are about taste and almost all are fixed in under an hour.
- Sending a press kit to a promoter, and what happens nextThe kit is rarely the problem — the email around it usually is. What that email should say, when to send it, and what happens to it after you press send.
- EPK or press release: they answer different questionsOne says who you are, the other says what just happened. The test is a single question, and sending the wrong one is how a good approach gets ignored.
